Earthly Belonging
Nurturing an affinity to the world around us.
Connection to nature supports growth and development. A love of nature starts in childhood and blooms into adulthood.
Earthly combines different education methods to meet the needs of each child. Our foundation is based on Forest Schools, fostering a sense of engagement through the elements.
We are inspired to share this forest kinship that focuses on land stewardship, ecological learning, biodynamic farming, and Waldorf Education.
Hi, I’m Sara June,
A forest school teacher, village auntie, clinical herbalist, and organic gardener. I am currently training as a Waldorf teacher through Antioch University in Wilton, MA. I believe in the unique abilities of each student. My work is to provide a safe and encouraging presence that cherishes the pace of children and responds with emergent, tangible ways to follow the threads of interest. We move through a seasonally based curriculum that is based in earth care and kinship.
Stepping with both wonder and intention
Earthly programs are saturated in rhythm and ritual. We start our time together intentionally and make space for celebrating milestones by holding rites of passage for children as they grow. This practice builds a culture of initiated adults who know they belong.
The seasons are our guide. We follow an elemental curriculum that includes herbalism, foraging, fire making, woodcarving, song, figure drawing, weaving, and farming.
